Above the Clouds Guest House

Above the Clouds Guest House sits on 33-acres of cloud forest sanctuary, a peaceful  nature-immersed setting just 1.5 hours from Quito. Tucked away at the end of a quiet country road, the guest house offers privacy and a sense of seclusion while remaining within easy reach of cloud forest activities and near-by towns.

Life slows down naturally here—inviting you to step away from obligations and settle into the tranquility, beauty, and rhythm of the land. Ideal for families, creative groups, small retreats and those seeking rest, connection, and a more meaningful travel experience. The home sleeps up to 10 guests across five bedrooms and includes a full kitchen, large living area, two terraces and outside BBQ.

Mornings begin with clouds drifting through the valley and frequent sightings of toucans and other native birds, best enjoyed from the terrace with a cup of coffee in hand. A private waterfall and nearby swimming spots invite guests of all ages to cool off, explore, and immerse themselves in nature—just steps from the house.

For those looking to go deeper, we can arrange a small number of private, locally rooted experiences—such as visiting a nearby coffee farm, seeing traditional panela production, or witnessing the remarkable Andean Cock-of-the-Rock lek right next door.

Above the Clouds Guest House and Coffee Farm is a place that makes you feel complete. It was a fantastic weekend. We felt constantly rewarded by the overwhelming landscape that surrounds and complements the house. A beautiful house with lovely details and warmth, very fitting for relaxation, contemplation and joy. The whole place is a constant caress to the human spirit.

The adventure to the waterfall was so fun, the physical effort was overcompensated with the restorative water and the view of the place.

Cheryl is an amazing hostess; we had everything we needed. We are very thankful for the experience.
